29. 4. 2020
The eighth supported bilateral initiative is the project of the non-profit organization ALKA Wildlife.

The Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic approved support for the eighth bilateral initiative under the Environment, Ecosystems and Climate Change program. Support was granted to the following bilateral initiative:

Bilateral meetings on research and conservation of species of interest, combining genetic tools with direct fieldwork approaches

The initiative is being prepared in cooperation of the non-profit organization ALKA Wildlife o.p.s. and two Norwegian organizations, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the Naturformidling van der Kooij. The aim of the initiative is to prepare further joint projects under the Norway Grants Programme in the field of support „Improvement of Environmental Status in Ecosystems.“ The main topic will be the protection of endangered Northern birch mouse population. During the visit, a working excursion to several locations of the endangered animal will be carried out and monitoring methods developed by the Norwegian project partner will be discussed and tested. Other experts who are interested in the conservation of the Northern birch mouse will also be admitted to the initiative, eg. , e.g. Mgr. Jitka Matoušová from AOPK ČR, doktor Peter Adamík z University Palackého, Ing. Pavel Bína.

Can I still apply in the Bilateral fund?

Under the Trolltunga Call, it is still possible to raise grant for bilateral initiatives between Czech and Norwegian partner organizations. Of the total allocation of EUR 100 000, approximately 17 percent (ie. 16 800 EUR) is currently still available. The call will be closed on 30 June 2020. Supported bilateral initiatives must be implemented by June 30, 2021 at the latest.

!!! We would like to remind those interested in support that we are currently registering unprocessed applications in the system that exceed the allocation of our call. You can still submit your application, but at this time we cannot guarantee that the allocation will not be exhausted before your application is evaluated. If you want to be sure that your application will be accepted, we recommend that you apply in the next round of the call, which will take place in the second half of this year.
